You didn’t learn how to walk in a day – you watched, tried, failed, tried, failed (a lot), tried, succeeded, failed. But eventually, you figured it out.
As children, we didn’t have our minds filled with doubt, uncertainty, ‘what if’s’. As adults, our mind is filled with all of these things, most of the time nothing external is a real factor that is holding us back from success. It's usually our mindset and any self-limiting beliefs we hold. Most of us don’t have sideline cheerleaders any more, reminding us “You can do it” and “Try again”. It’s up to us to remember failure is a part of the process. Therefore, success takes as long as you make it take.
We hold our self to such high expectations. Not allowing ourselves to fail and if we do, beating ourselves up about it. To reach success quicker, it’s about opening up that channel, unfolding that box we put ourselves in. Show up despite the fear. That’s how to give ourselves space. Space to be us, space to learn, space to make mistakes, to bounce back and be resilient.
If you’re not making mistakes, then you’ll never reach your highest potential. If you let doubt overtake you, if you allow the past to determine your future, you are getting stuck in the process. Thinking something won’t work and knowing something won’t work - the only difference is experience of actually making the mistake.
Discipline is important when we try something new. Try and try again. Try again until you learn something.
Now it’s up to you. Don’t be afraid to fail, be afraid of never trying.
